Reds Tear Continues with 4-2 Triumph

Bill Byrd pitched well, but his team, the Colorado Rockies, still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Rawly Eastwick picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bill Byrd suffered the loss. Rob Dibble notched his 11th save of the season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Cincinnati center fielder Chaney White gave his team the lead. With one out and a runner on 1st, Reindeer hit his 7th home run of the year. Colorado pitcher Bill Byrd surrendered it. With that, the Reds jumped in front, 3-2.
In postgame remarks, Reds manager praised his team for their performance during their current winning streak. "Let the good times roll," he said.
The 24-22 Reds have won 11 games in a row.
