The San Francisco Giants used the hitting of first baseman Bill Terry to subdue the Miami Marlins, 6-5, in 10 innings. For the game, Terry went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Getting the save was Brian Wilson, his 10th. San Francisco, now 23-22, holds down third place in the National League Western Division.

San Francisco used a timely hit from Roger Bresnahan to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Giants ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Terry. "I like it."
