Phillies 7-4 Victors Over Giants
|
The inspired effort of San Francisco catcher Buster Posey was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-4, to the Philadelphia Phillies. Posey was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Picking up the save was Ricky Bottalico, his 2nd. Philadelphia leads the National League Eastern Division by 2 games.
The Phillies got a big at-bat from center fielder Chuck Klein. For the game, Klein was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 6-3 lead.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Klein. "You've got to get results."
