Brewers Lose at Home, 3-2, to Washington
The Washington Nationals had to overcome a good performance from Milwaukee pitcher Cal Eldred to claim a 3-2 win at Miller Park. Eldred went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Washington reliever Pedro J Martinez picked up the win to move to 3-0. Dan Plesac suffered the loss. Washington is now 21-15. Milwaukee is 14-22.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Darrin Fletcher? The 30-year old catcher Fletcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Washington up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 2 doubles and 1 single.

Afterward, Nationals manager was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
