The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at Citi Field, dropping the New York Mets, 3-2, in 11 innings. Sandy Koufax, who is tied for 7th in the NL in quality starts with 6, was the difference-maker. Eric Gagne snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Tom Seaver suffered the loss. Takashi Saito nailed down his 4th save.

Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Shohei Ohtani to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Dodgers on top, 3-2. For the game, Ohtani had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"You know what they say," Ohtani told reporters after the game. "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings."

The win boosted Los Angeles to 19-15.
