The Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers squared off at Miller Park.
Nip Winters, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2014 draft, was locked in. The left-hander led the Colorado Rockies to a 7-0 win against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park. Winters, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing no runs.
It could have been a different outcome for Colorado, had it not been for Charlie Blackmon, the 30-year old center fielder . Blackmon contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Colorado up, 2-0.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Blackmon told the Colorado News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
The Brewers fall to 12-20 and continue their lackluster start to the 2014 season.
