Phillies Take Down Nationals, 7-6, in 10
The Philadelphia Phillies clipped the Washington Nationals, 7-6, in 10 innings at Nationals Park. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and La Porte, Texas, native Ron Reed. Ricky Bottalico nailed down the save. The win lifted the Philadelphia record to 21-12.

It could have been a different outcome for Philadelphia, had it not been for Judy Johnson, the 25-year old third baseman . Johnson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Philadelphia up, 7-6.

"No one wins," Reed said, "without the will to win."
