Diamondbacks Dealt 6-1 Loss
|
New York starter Bill Drake put a stranglehold on the Arizona offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Mets to a 6-1 win. The Mets bumped their record to 22-16 with this win.
New York used the timely hitting of Pete Alonso to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mets on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a good win," said New York manager . "Not without blemish, but good."
