The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Colorado Rockies, 6-3. Philadelphia pitcher and La Porte, Texas, native Ron Reed led the way. Reed yielded 2 runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-2. Steve Carlton earned the save for Philadelphia, his 2nd of the year.
