Gibson, now 3-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. St. Louis has won 7 straight games.
Stan Musial hit a 2-run double off Jose Fernandez in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Cardinals in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Musial had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
After the game, St. Louis manager applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
