The San Francisco Giants topped the New York Mets, 2-0, in National League action at Citi Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Christy Mathewson. Brian Wilson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save. With the win, San Francisco goes to 18-11.

Mathewson confounded New York hitters. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 1 hit.
