Yelich Goes Deep Twice in 5-2 Brewers Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from the 27-year old left fielder Christian Yelich helped the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2. Chris Bosio, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 2-0. Rollie Fingers closed it out for Milwaukee, earning his 10th save.
Yelich contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Milwaukee in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Yelich took a curveball from Johnny Cueto and stroked the home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Brewers to leap in front, 2-1.
Yelich called the win "a team effort."
The loss drops Cincinnati to 10-18.
