Dihigo Fuels 4-1 Washington Triumph
|
The Washington Nationals picked up a win at Nationals Park, taking down the New York Mets, 4-1. Starting pitcher Martin Dihigo was a big reason why. Tim Burke zipped up his 8th save. The win lifts Washington to a record of 15-10.
Tim Raines Sr dealt the Mets a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Washington leading 1-0, Raines Sr, who leads the NL in stolen bases with 9, hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Raines Sr after the game.
