Cubs Claw Out 2-0 Win
|
Mordecai Brown played a key role in a gritty 2-0 Chicago Cubs win against the Miami Marlins. Brown picked up the win for Chicago, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Sean Marshall closed out the game, earning his 9th save.
In the bottom of the fourth, Riggs Stephenson delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Chicago left fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Cubs in front, 2-0.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Brown told the Chicago Bulletin. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
