Ohtani Hits Two Dingers, Dodgers Win, 5-1
|
Shohei Ohtani, who is tied for 4th in the NL in home runs with 8, knocked in 5 runs to help the Los Angeles Dodgers win, 5-1, over the Washington Nationals. Fernando Valenzuela went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The left-hander struck out 4 and walked 2. With the win, he ups his record to 4-0 this season. With the win, Los Angeles improves its record to 15-12.
Early in the game, Ohtani had a 3-run home run for Los Angeles. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Dodgers on top, 3-0.
"Shohei leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Los Angeles manager .
