The Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles completed their game despite the inclement weather.

Mule Suttles was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Baltimore Orioles. The left fielder went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Oakland Athletics. Early on, the Athletics, at 11-4, have piled up the wins.

In the top of the sixth, Mark McGwire delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Oakland designated hitter hit a run-scoring single, putting the Athletics in front, 8-2.
