San Francisco Edges Arizona in Extra Innings
|
The San Francisco Giants wiggled past the Arizona Diamondbacks, 3-2, in 10 innings at AT&T Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Carl Hubbell. Sergio Romo, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Giants, now 15-8, have been on a roll in the early going.
The decisive blow was delivered by Roger Bresnahan in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 34-year old right-handed pitcher Curt Schilling to win the game for San Francisco. The home crowd went nuts.
"It's a good feeling when you fight so hard and win," said Giants manager .
