Christy Mathewson was masterful in helping the San Francisco Giants take down the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1. Brian Wilson recorded the save, his 6th. Arizona falls to 12-13.

The Giants got a big at-bat from shortstop Travis Jackson. For the game, Jackson was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.

Mathewson called the win "just what the doctor ordered."
