Rockies Rally For Late Win Over Dodgers

The Colorado Rockies racked up a win at Dodger Stadium, bumping off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-2. Dick Redding, who started for Colorado, pitched effectively for his team. In 8 innings, Redding surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Huston Street earned the save for Colorado, his 3rd of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Colorado, had it not been for Brent Mayne, the 31-year old catcher . Mayne contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Colorado up, 5-2.
"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Rockies manager .
Los Angeles is 13-10 after the defeat.
