San Francisco Beats Colorado, Goes to 12-5
|
San Francisco Giants starter Carl Hubbell pitched a good game to help his team take down the Colorado Rockies, 7-1. Hubbell picked up the win for San Francisco, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-0. Early on, the Giants, at 12-5, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
Willie Mays had a big 3-run home run for the Giants in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco leading 4-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a splitter from Ubaldo Jimenez and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 7-1.
Said losing manager : "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
