Brown Goes Off, But Rockies Win
|
The Colorado Rockies besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Washington first baseman Jim Brown by beating the Nationals, 13-9, at Coors Field. Brown was 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Colorado is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 12 games.
Colorado took the lead, 12-9, on Carlos Gonzalez's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Washington pitcher Pedro J Martinez in the bottom of the seventh.
"It's a long season," said Gonzalez. "We'll keep working to improve."
