The Baltimore Orioles received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Jim Palmer, allowing them to bump off the Boston Red Sox, 4-0. With the win, Baltimore improves its record to 9-6.

Palmer, a native of New York, was dealing all game. He kept Boston hitters off-balance, while giving the Orioles 8.2 quality innings. Palmer threw 100 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 4.

"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Palmer.
