The Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles played an entertaining game for Oriole Park at Camden Yards patrons.

Baltimore got a decent performance from pitcher Dave McNally, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boston Red Sox. Boston won the Oriole Park at Camden Yards contest, 6-5. McNally threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Jonathan Papelbon earned save number 5 this season.

Boston used a timely hit from Wade Boggs to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Ah," said Boggs in a jubilant clubhouse, "the sweet smell of victory!."

The loss drops Baltimore to 8-5.
