Cincinnati designated hitter Joe L Morgan played a vital role in his team's 6-4 conquest of Washington. He went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Cincinnati. The win takes Cincinnati to 4-5.

Morgan had a key at-bat for Cincinnati in the bottom of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and gave Cincinnati an early 4-2 lead.
