Reds Suffer 5-3 Home Defeat
|
The Washington Nationals dealt the Cincinnati Reds a 5-3 loss at Great American Ball Park. Juan Soto was the star on offense. He went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Washington pitcher Dennis Martinez got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Noodles Hahn got the loss. With the loss, Cincinnati is 3-4.
Soto had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a full count sinker from Noodles Hahn, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Nationals a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Soto.
"Juan was ready to go. Big day for him," said Washington manager .
