Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at Dodger Stadium.

Don Sutton pitched a gem to lead Los Angeles to victory over the Chicago Cubs, 5-1. The save was Don Drysdale's, his 1st.

Ron Cey had a big run-scoring double for the Dodgers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Rick Sutcliffe and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 3-1.

Said Chicago manager : "They just got the better of us."

The Cubs, 6-6, continue their so-so start to the 2014 season.
