Cubs Rally to Win, 2-1
The Chicago Cubs earned a close win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, thanks in part to Clark Griffith. The Chicago right-hander played a key role in the 13-inning, 2-1 victory. Chicago reliever Kerry Wood picked up the win. Don Drysdale took the loss for Los Angeles. The win puts Chicago at 6-5.

Chicago took a 2-1 lead on Billy Williams's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Williams hit in the top of the 13th, left Los Angeles pitcher Don Drysdale visibly frustrated.

"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Los Angeles manager .
