Tigers Drop 4-3 Decision
The Kansas City Royals did just enough to sneak past the Detroit Tigers, 4-3, at Kauffman Stadium. Kansas City pitcher Booker McDaniel, in particular, had a standout performance. Steve Mingori earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The Tigers fall to 6-8 and continue their sub-.500 start to the 2014 season.

Kansas City took a 4-3 lead on Johnny Damon's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Damon hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Jim Bunning visibly frustrated.
