Bonds goes 4-for-5 as Giants Squeeze Past St. Louis
The San Francisco Giants topped the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-7, in National League action at Busch Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco left fielder Barry Bonds. San Francisco reliever Sergio Romo was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jason Isringhausen. Brian Wilson earned save number 3 this season.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Bonds delivered big-time for San Francisco, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Jason Isringhausen. The game-changing hit put the Giants on top, 8-7.

"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Bonds, "I can't complain."

The loss drops St. Louis to 5-6.
