Reds Dealt 4-2 Loss by Colorado
|
The Colorado Rockies rode a solid performance from 40-year-old starting pitcher Bill Byrd to a win, beating the Cincinnati Reds, 4-2, at Coors Field. Huston Street earned save number 1 this season. The loss drops Cincinnati to 2-2.
Dan Kennard had a big run-scoring double for the Rockies in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Colorado leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Mario Soto, who is rated as the 51st best prospect by BNN, and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 3-1.
"Bill's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Colorado manager .
