Max Manning pitched a dandy of a game to help the Cincinnati Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-1. Pittsburgh is 4-2 after the defeat.

Bid McPhee drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Cincinnati. The 34-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Sam Streeter. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"I just tried to stick to my strengths," said Manning.
