Cubs Take Home 3-2 Win Over San Francisco
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Wrigley Field enjoyed a good ballgame.
The Chicago Cubs managed to get by the San Francisco Giants, 3-2, at Wrigley Field. Chicago pitcher Roosevelt Davis set himself apart with his performance. Davis, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The save was credited to Lee Smith, his 1st.
Joe Tinker helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said San Francisco manager .
Chicago goes to 2-3.
