The San Francisco Giants got a stellar performance from pitcher Joe McGinnity, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 2-0, at Wrigley Field. The winning pitcher was McGinnity, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. The defeat makes Chicago 1-3.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Buster Posey, who is rated as the 90th best prospect by BNN, hit a double. The Giants went on to win.
