Angels Rally to Nose Past Minnesota
The Los Angeles Angels beat the Minnesota Twins, 4-3, in 12 innings. Los Angeles pitcher and Washington, Georgia, native Roy Partlow led the way. Jered Weaver, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The loss puts Minnesota at 5-11.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jim Edmonds in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Jared Burton to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.

"What an ending!" said a jubilant Partlow.
