The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Safeco Field, taking down the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-0. Starting pitcher Felix Hernandez was a big reason why. Hernandez yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 12-8. J J Putz nailed down the save.

The fans who came to support the Mariners were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at Safeco Field.

"Felix gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Seattle manager .

The Mariners move to 66-63 with the win, while the Blue Jays drop to 68-61.
