Yankees Earn Late Win
The Cleveland Indians got a superb performance from pitcher Cliff P Lee, but the New York Yankees still won the game, 4-3. Lee threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. New York reliever Mariano Rivera picked up the win, upping his record to 4-6. Addie Joss absorbed the loss. New York leads the American League Eastern Division by 4½ games.

Bernie F Williams was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Yankees pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Williams called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
