Tigers Outdo Angels in Extra Innings
The Detroit Tigers beat the Los Angeles Angels, 4-2, in 10 innings. Detroit pitcher and The United States, native Jack Morris led the way. Harry Coveleski snagged the win in relief. He goes to 7-6 on the season. Jordan Walden suffered the loss. Picking up the save was Willie Hernandez. He's now 20 for 26 in save chances.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Harry Heilmann to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tigers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're rolling right now," said Heilmann. "We're playing good baseball."

Detroit is 57-68 and Los Angeles, with the loss, 62-63.
