Houston Hangs 3-1 Loss on Chicago
|
Houston took on Chicago in front of a lively crowd.
Houston turned a fine outing from starter Andy Porter into a victory over the Chicago White Sox at Minute Maid Park. The final score was 3-1. Mike Scott snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 2 innings. He's now 4-1 on the season.
Houston went in front, 3-1, on Craig Biggio's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Biggio hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Doc White visibly perturbed.
In postgame comments to the Houston Chronicle, Biggio said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The triumph puts Houston at 73-53 for the season.
