Orioles Win, 4-3
|
The Chicago White Sox opened their 2014 season with a disappointing 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles at U.S. Cellular Field. Third Baseman Brooks Robinson was a big part of the win for Baltimore. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Baltimore starter Webster McDonald was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Stu Miller was credited with the save for Baltimore, his 1st of the season.
Baltimore grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Robinson hit a 2-run home run off Ed Walsh. His 1st home run of the season put the Orioles out in front, 2-0.
Baltimore manager called it "a good, solid win."
