Yankees Rally to Eke Out Win
|
In a tight contest between the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros, Stan Bahnsen was the determining factor. The New York right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Picking up his 1st save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Lindy McDaniel. Houston now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
New York used the clutch hitting of Joe DiMaggio to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 13th inning to give the Yankees the lead, 2-1. For the game, DiMaggio had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said Houston manager . "You need to let the game come to you."
