The Rangers grabbed a win, 4-2, at O.co Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Oakland pitcher Chief Bender. Bender went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Texas reliever Francisco Cordero picked up the win to move to 6-3. Dennis Eckersley suffered the loss. Texas, now 46-70, holds down last place in the American League Western Division.

Texas took a 4-2 lead on Bullet Rogan's 17th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Rogan hit in the top of the ninth, left Oakland pitcher Dennis Eckersley shaking his head.

"It was a good effort all around," said Rogan.
