Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels.
Boston pitcher Cy Young did his part in helping his team defeat the Los Angeles Angels, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Young, the winner, moves to 10-10. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Jonathan Papelbon collected save number 24.
Dustin Pedroia came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Boston manager called it "a pretty good win."
The third-place Red Sox bumped their record to 59-58.
