At Yankee Stadium, the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Chicago starter Eddie Cicotte pitched well against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-3. The winning pitcher was Cicotte, now 14-6. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 2.

Chicago used the bat of Heavy Johnson to get the win. The designated hitter hit a fastball from Red Ruffing out of the park for a 2-run home run. The blast came in the top of the fifth inning and put the White Sox on top, 3-1. It was Johnson's lone hit, but it left a mark.

Cicotte told a Chicago Gazette reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.

The win hiked the Chicago record to 65-47.
