Indians Peel Off 6-3 Win
|
A good performance from shortstop Lou Boudreau helped the Cleveland Indians defeat the Boston Red Sox, 6-3. Boudreau went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks for the Indians. Cleveland, now 50-57, holds down third place in the American League Central Division.
Albert Belle had a big 3-run home run for the Indians in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cleveland trailing 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Dutch H Leonard and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Indians on top, 5-3.
Cleveland manager praised his team's "no BS approach."
