White Sox Accelerate to Late Win Over Royals
U.S. Cellular Field played host to some dramatic action.

The Chicago White Sox racked up a win at U.S. Cellular Field, bumping off the Kansas City Royals, 3-2. Dick Whitworth, who started for Chicago, pitched effectively for his team. Doc White earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-4.

George Davis was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the White Sox third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Dick definitely kept his composure, kept making pitches," said Chicago manager .

The defeat makes Kansas City 48-59.
