Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles.

The Los Angeles Angels picked up a win at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 3-1. Starting pitcher Roy Partlow was a big reason why. Partlow, now 8-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs.

The Angels got a big hit from second baseman Bobby Grich. Facing Baltimore pitcher Jim Palmer in the top of the fifth, Grich pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 7th home run of the season put the Angels ahead, 3-0.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Baltimore manager .

With the victory, the Angels record stands at 50-55.
