Mantle contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New York in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Mantle took a changeup from Booker McDaniel and stroked the home run to right. His 19th home run of the season allowed the Yankees to leap in front, 2-1.
