Welmaker, Twins Jam Up Blue Jays
|
Minnesota beat Toronto on the strength of starting pitcher Roy Welmaker's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-0. With the win, Minnesota pushed its record to 57-45.
Welmaker, who dominated for Minnesota, earned the victory to move to 11-7. He was in control the whole game, scattering 1 hit over 7.1 innings, while striking out 7. Toronto batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
