The Chicago White Sox stopped the Texas Rangers, 5-1, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The White Sox got a big game from Buck Leonard, who went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ed Walsh went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right-hander struck out 4 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 8-5 this season. Leonard made an early impact for Chicago when he stroked his 11th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the first, put the White Sox on top, 4-0.
