The Minnesota Twins faced a tenacious opponent in Cleveland pitcher Sonny Siebert, but still scratched out a win at Target Field by a final score of 7-6 in 12 innings. Siebert went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Cleveland, at 2-6, is off to a poor start in 2014.

The decisive blow was delivered by Sam Rice in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Doug Jones to win the game for Minnesota. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was a test of wills," said , the Minnesota skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
